Frequently Asked Questions
Why has my account been suspended for inactivity?
In order to encourage BookSneeze bloggers to be active readers and reviewers, there is a 90-day policy for reading and requesting a book on BookSneeze. If you have requested a book, you must submit a review on BookSneeze at least 90 days after the initial request. After you have submitted your review, you must request another book within 90 days of your last review. If your account remains inactive during this 90 day period, your account will be suspended for 60 days. After these 60 days, you may email the BookSneeze team at email@example.com, and a BookSneeze team member can re-review your application and lift the suspension.
When will you answer my e-mail?
The BookSneeze team loves to chat with you! Please note that the BookSneeze office hours are from 8AM-5PM Monday-Friday. Please allow 24 hours for us to respond, or, if you are e-mailing us on the weekend, please give us 24 hours from the next business day to respond to your e-mail.
What would be the cause for my application to be denied?
If a BookSneeze application is denied it may be that the applicant did not meet the program's currently-preferred criteria. In order to best suit the needs of its members, BookSneeze has standard preferences we look for in its applicants. Based on the current needs of the program, these criteria may change, but typically the program hopes to attract bloggers with:
- An actively maintained personal, public blog. The program does not accept Facebook, Amazon, Goodreads or any other type of community profile site as a viable form of blog.
- Bloggers who have a visible minimum of 30 followers or subscribers. If the BookSneeze team cannot view this follower count, we cannot currently accept your application. There are multiple options in order to place a follower count on your blog, such as Google Friend Connect, Wordpress Follow Blog Widget, Blogger Buzz, Twitter follower buttons, Facebook follower buttons, and using a Feedburner Count.
- Bloggers who regularly post content of at least once per week.
If your blog meets the current preferences, please feel free to apply. If you have applied and received a rejection notice, please ensure that your blog does meet these requirements. If and when they do, contact us through email a firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to review your application again. Please note, you may not submit a new application as we keep all applications on file.
If your blog currently meets these needs and you still have received a rejection notice, please contact email@example.com.
I would like to submit my book to BookSneeze in order to be reviewed. How do I go about doing this?
BookSneeze is a blogger review program owned and operated by HarperCollins Christian Publishing. We are not accepting material from outside authors or publishers at this time.
If you are considering a self-publishing route, you may be interested in WestBow Press, in which aspiring authors have the option of working with WestBow Press to place their book on BookSneeze. Please visit The WestBow Press Site for more information.
I have finished reviewing my book. Do I need to return the book to BookSneeze®? What should I do with it?
The book is now yours. Feel free to keep it in your physical or digital library. If you have received a print copy, you may also donate it to your local library, church, charitable organization, or host a giveaway for your review copy on your blog.
I don’t see any books that interest me? Are there more books available?
All reviewers can see all the available selections. The books you are most interested in will show up first when you are on the "Available Books" page; if you are interested in viewing the other categories of books, please check the corresponding boxes next to the categories on top of the "Available Books" page. If you don’t see anything that interests you, please check back as we are constantly updating the selection.
Do your eBooks work for Kindle, Nook, etc?
Yes! Our eBooks will work for most eReaders. Be sure to download the Mobi file for Kindles and the ePub file will work for most others. If you need more help here is a link to our eBook Help Page http://booksneeze.com/ebook-help
